This drawing is made on an iPad. The screen holds the stroke as an etching plate holds ink, and there is no paper original behind it. This print is therefore not a reproduction of an earlier work, but the drawing's first physical form.

Drawn each morning as a ritual, or a secular prayer. To ensure the integrity of the moment, I work with rapid strokes, like a calligrapher.

I chose the paper carefully, to ensure a tactile & visual experience of exceptional quality. The certificate of authenticity is printed on Asuka Natural paper—a premium washi produced in Japan by Ishikawa Mill.
